Julie Abrams, DVM

Dr. Julie Abrams grew up in San Antonio, with childhood centered around her menagerie of pets and riding hunter/jumper horses at a local equestrian center.  She knew from a very young age she wanted to be a veterinarian- no other profession even crossed her mind. After high school Dr. Abrams traveled to upstate New York to attend Union College for her undergraduate degree.  After college she worked in an equine respiratory research laboratory for a couple years before attending Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine.  Upon graduation Dr. Abrams practiced for several years in both Ohio and California, then finally returned to San Antonio in 2021 to settle near family.

Dr. Abrams is busy with two small kids and two dogs at home, and she works part time at Encino Park Veterinary Clinic.  While she only practices on small animals at Encino Park, Dr. Abrams has continued to pursue her love of horses throughout her adult life by riding dressage.

While attending the veterinary acupuncture certification program at Chi University in Reddick, FL in 2025, Dr. Abrams was amazed by how effective acupuncture can be for animals, especially when it comes to relieving pain and discomfort.  Her goal is to make all her patients as comfortable and pain-free as possible. She looks forward to meeting you and your furry loved ones!
